Our front lawn is thriving 'neath the cover of a 30 year old Cottonwood. The backyard hill is being cooked in the afternoons, 'tis to be expected. I'm seriously considering Xeriscaping that bitch.

It seems the weather in Houston these days is enough to make some people go all Milli Vanilli.

Chris: I was just about to post that...

Jenn: It's all about frame of reference.
Firstly, I'm not talking about New England rain that lasts a month and a half. I'm talking about AWESOME afternoon thunderstorms that roll through in an hour or so. Also, we've been drought-stricken for most of the past decade, so this is great.
I'm with you, though: I hate my grass. I also hate getting letters from my HOA because my front lawn is dead.

I do need to bring my camera to work so I can get a good shot of the incredibly verdant Chatauqua medows from my office balcony... This webcam doesn't do it justice.

Grass! Feh. (yes, my neighbors probably hate me)

If you're going to brag about beautiful spring weather, you are supposed to post an idyllic photo of Colorado mountains and blue skies for us all to gawk at. Come on, it just finished raining for FOUR DAYS STRAIGHT here and we are all a bit cranky.

Yes the flashes of 80 degree days have been disconcerting, but then we have a nice show blow through and forget about how hot it was getting. (Also, never mind that those storms have been spinning into tornadoes like crazy out in the plains east of here. Say hello to Al Gore's super storm weather pattern!)

I do fear it's going to be a monster summer, though. Suck.

indeed. been loving the spring showers again too (seem they have disappeared the last seven or so years). i, however, have not touched the sprinkler system yet. usa today posted a scorching summer forecast for all of the U.S. of A. i could be a hot hot hot summer.

it's really nice here in houston, too. low 80s in the day, mid 60s at night. i have, um, issues with cold weather, so i'm happy. i don't like rain though. rain and scooters don't work so well together.

I hear ya, jackass. the wife and I love the '07 Spring. The t-storm last night was refreshing like a menthol cigarette. I've been replacing sprinkler heads and valves, too as the previous occupants left them in a state of disrepair.
