I just got an email about not buying gas on May 15th to really sock it to the gas companies and force them to lower prices.

It’s hogwash, folks.

And for the record, we’re still not in any danger of catching up to fuel prices in Europe.

You are right to believe this is incredibly stupid. If you don’t buy gas on a certain day, you will just buy it on another day, you are not sticking it to anyone. If anything, this should be a “don’t drive” day, but even the effect of that wouldn’t make a difference.
