  • Firefox 2.0 is out and seems worth the update. I do suggest getting the Tabbrowser Preferences extension, because I hate those tab close buttons on every tab. The inline spell checking is worth the price of admission, though.
  • Outside.in (from Steve Berlin Johnson) is interesting, but I’m not sure it turns me on just yet. Not a whole lot of content for my neck of the woods so far.

I just installed that Tab extension and I have no idea what it does. I feel clueless. I rely heavily on Ctrl-W for tab closing tho so maybe I don’t need it.

Anyway, it helped me discover what may be the bestest thing about Firefox 2.0 - when you click that new “Restart” button in the extensions window, it restarts but it remembers your open windows and brings them back! Yay!!

The extension gives you a new set of panels under Tools > Options… to let you play with how tabs work.

Wow, I didn’t even notice because it is so well integrated.

I dunno…I been using it for a bit now, and kinda prefer the older version. I’ll give it a few more weeks, but I don’t see any GUI improvements.

Power went out today and when it came back on, I started up my machine and when I clicked on Firefox, it offered to bring back all the windows (7 of them!) and tabs I had open before it “unexpectedly quit.” Another “Yay!!” for 2.0 :-).

Try some of these tips from LifeHacker. I dig ‘em. Especially Tiny Menus.

Bummer, man! Just when I was all happy that it came back.
