Bush on the Constitution: ‘It’s just a goddamned piece of paper’
I’ve talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.�
Context is given, so there’s not much to add, really…
I don’t buy the story, but I really have gotten off the bandwagon. The only two things I apparently agree with the new Republican party about are constructionist judges and “neo-con/Israeli” wars “for oil”. Spending? Those mugs are outpacing Johnson; quick with the fat checkbook (see George Will’s great column for an example). Religious freedom? They are trying to teach intelligent design as science. Personal liberty? The FCC wants control of cable and they arrest smut peddlers like they were kiddy diddlers.
No bullshit, I might vote for democrats in the next election just so we have gridlock in DC. If the frontrunner for president in 2008 is a democrat, I’ll vote republican for senator.
