The soft, cloudy, old-style ones are ok. I've also heard (like 5th hand... don't trust) that the hard clearish ones may or not be ok until they're washed in the dishwasher; that amplifies that chemical leaching process. Or so I've heard. The complex matter is when your co-workers, friends and family start mocking you for your moronic decision to "go metal," when you have a technology induced hare lip.
