Either goals or assists count as points when it comes to individual scoring. So, 92g + 120a = 212p.

Obviously the goal is the only thing that adds up during team vs team competition.

Please, excuse my ignorance, but take the opportunity to learn a southern boy. How can Gretzky score 92 goals and end up with 212 points? I thought each goal ='d a single point. Hence, shouldn't 92 goals = 92 points? Again, this is the kinda stuff that makes hockey elusive to me.
