If you are looking to get a tattoo, make sure you will not regret it and make sure you feel the need to get it. I feel getting a tattoo to get one leads to regrets, my personnal opinion. The spot only matters with the pain, and having one on my spine and across my back over both shoulder blades it is not that bad. I will be getting one done on my collar bone in a few weeks, so pain is not bad don't let anyone tell you different. Get it where you want and what you want, don't let others change your mind. The tattoo is for you and what you want. Good luck.

I want to give some advise since I know a few things now. I have done everything from tattooing myself in high school, to getting 13 tats on various parts of my body to getting lasered, and have some info to pass on to anyone who cares. I will try to keep this short simple basic story. I am 38 I did homemade tats when I was 17. I got my first prof. tat at age 19 and got "addicted" to getting more from there for about 5 years. I will tell you, many of them WILL FADE, they WILL look different from when you first get them. The shops dont tell you this, but they ARE going to fade. The degree to which they turn into a blob might take 10 to 20 years. Mine took 15. If anyone wonders about what spot and they really really feel they need to get a tattoo for some god forsaken reason like I felt at the time. (I believe it is a phychological need to feel complete when you don't already.) There are other ways, just be patient. But I guess I would recommend a few spots. The upper arm or least sensitive parts, because when you want to get them lasered off in 20 years it is going to HURT LIKE HELL, and also the feet and hands and boney parts will hurt like ALL HELL and thensome. It is so painful! I have never felt such a pain as extreme as laser tattoo removal. I had it on my hand/wrist area, and actually sustained nerve damage, my arm aches for one year now since that day. The doctors know nothing of it. They have not studied effects enough as it is hard to do 20 years and an autopsy to find nerve damage which is invisible almost. Or the effects of the toxic ink being released into the blood stream. Many of the inks have warning labels of the ingredients. I have had chronic fatigue for about 15 years ironically. All black tats have a benefit or two, 1. The ingredients in the ink usually are more minimal and semi-harmless compared to colors. Ingredients vary per color from not only toxic, but carcinogenic. I recommend before getting into tats, to know the facts. Do a LOT of googling on the subject of "bad tats" "chemicals in tatooo ink" "tattoos fading" "my experience with laser tattoo removal". Dont just go by the clinics website, they will say things like "it feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin" fact is, it feels like one thousand hard core rubber bands!. My laserologist after I complained of nerve damage, since he lasered my wrist, and I had arm and aches for one year since that day... he said he simply "shined a light on my skin" Well look up the "YAG lasers" too and see how that works. By the way, your skins immune system sends forth a sort of barrier cels to surround your new ink and attach to it to contain it. That is what holds it, like a scar in your skin. When it gets lasered, all those chemicals are released into your blood stream and if you don't know what they are, they could be more toxic to you than having them remain embedded in your skin. Now I have tats on all body parts, the top of foot does NOT usually look that sexy but it tends to hold its original shape. I would NEVER EVER laser my foot for various reasons. The less fatty skin holds tats better, also the less exposed to in direct sun will hold its shape too. I was told colors fade and stretch much more than does the black outline ink. Most likely due to the composition of more chemicals in it. So summary, Black is better, lasering hurts, and can cause nerve damage (no matter what they say) if its done on a nerve meridian... If you want to look "clean" when you get older,.. don't get any. I have a bunch, and when I look at some others with faded tats, (which like I said is inevitable) MARK MY WORDS. They sometimes can get looked at in a judgemental light, in which someday, you might like kids, you might have a tat of a skull on your wrist, you may someday want to be a teacher, or ??? any job. They may not want thier customers looking at a skulled up person. Im just saying.... it is rare that you will stil feel the same in 15 -20 years. Oh another thing I must warn you of, even I, after being lasered and all, got another tat on another foot, and somehow.... he managed to talk me into thinking he was an expert. 1. he owned his own shop, 2. has been tatting for 20 years, 3. Had about 50 awards or more. 4. cost 150.00 per hour due to his "expertise" he still hand drew a cross on me, and managed to talk me out of my original request for details of smallness, etc. His hand drawing looked nice, I said OK, when it was done I realized one side was 1/8 inch longer than the other, I hated it the week I got it. It indeed was not what I envisioned because I allowed him to make me feel vulnerable to his "expertise as a tattoist." So, DO NOT let them design ON YOU thier own designs, because they can look good as a drawing, and you might think "why not? It looks good" But, if its not what came out of your head... it will not be you in a matter of time, so to this day I think I gave him too much power to tattoo his art on me. He even said.. he cannot replicate exactly any design, each has to be one of a kind... Well these "artists" even if good artists I think get off on doing this on peoples skin, If we are PAYING them, MAKE SURE IT IS YOUR IDEA, and you LOVE IT TO DEATH. TAKE TIME OVER NIGHT TO STARE AT IT. DO NOT GO IN ONE DAY AND DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS OR DOWN PAYMENT feel pushed into accepting something, and do no say yes to extra add -ons they come up with. Make sure you have viewed the picture AS IT WILL LOOK EXACTLY color and all. BEFORE it goes on you. That is my recommendation so you will have less remorse. That is another reason black tats may be better, you sort of know that black will simply look "grey blue" after about a month when it heals.... right?

I thing tats are great, shame that I just haven't got the guts to get one, but haven't found one that I really want. I also think that if I get my first one I will get many.
