At first blush, it looks totally and insanely awesome. We’ll see if I hold with that opinion over time… Or more importantly, whether it’s worthwhile considering how automated I already have things.

Yes, it’s been a while since much of anything happened here, but more importantly it’s been a long whiles since we’ve had any updates on the Monkey Revolution.

To help remedy this sad state of affairs, I have set up a new Twitter account: @simianista. On this, I shall endeavor to post short updates whenever a notice suspicious activity from our tree-born cousins.

Then the robots come in:

In theory, I have it set up so that a daily digest of @simianista activity will appear right here in this blog. Which will, again in theory, update my own @jakesutton Twitter account, which might even update my Facebook wall.

It’s all terribly complex, you wouldn’t understand. Just trust in the fact that I am here to help you stay aware in the latest developments in the rising primate insurgency.

Stay alert and hide your bananas.

Upgraded the site to the latest install of the old bloggin’ software and switched the theme around to something fairly nice that somebody else spent time on (see links in the footer).

I might get around to fiddling with the theme at some point, but don’t hold your breath or anything.

If you’re lucky, I might actually post once in a while. We’ve had a big stressor removed lately, but I still have lots of other things I either should be doing or would rather be doing. Follow my Twitter or hook up to my Facebook if you’re that interested in things. In fact, I may have rigged it so that new posts here end up in both of those places (yet to be proven, mind you).

And yeah… You look great today. So nice to see you!

And then from the browser: Gotta say, the WordPress app (iTunes) is the best remote blogging experience I’ve had yet. Wouldn’t want to post many (any?) links with it though. Lack of copy & paste hurts here.

Meanwhile, I do occasionally post to Twitter and/or Plurk, and I share junk on Google Reader.

Based on the evidence, I haven’t touched a real rock while wearing a climbing harness in this century. In fact I’ve only climbed on the indoor fake stuff the once since I’ve moved to Colorado. Climbing was part of the “why” of moving to Colorado at the time of that decision. Funny how things work out, eh? A large part of it is having people with whom to actually do things. I suppose I didn’t realize how lucky I was to have developed the network of like-minded and tolerable people I had back in Massachusetts. Thanks, gang!

Then there the camping. I unpacked my tent to make sure it hadn’t dissolved completely over the years and found bits of bark and moss from a camping trip I took in New England with Miracle Ed and Hanh something like ten years ago. Good goddamn!

It’s all a bit conflicting, to be honest, because I can’t say I’ve missed it all as much as I would have expected. I’ve found other things to do at times. Mostly I’m just kind of lazy, I think. Or at least I tend to have a lot of inertia when I’m comfortable. That’s a nice way of saying “lazy”…

Also, snakes.

Meta: I wanted to add my shared items from Google Reader to the new secondary sidebar, but it didn’t work properly. I might keep trying.

We might update the look & feel at some point. Or not. You know how it goes.
